If you want to sit at the bar, book in advance. There're only a few places and they get booked out quickly. The 2 of us went ad hoc and sat inside (hence we decided not to order sushi - next time!). I went specifically to try their soba. Food was excellent and there're items on the menu you won't find elsewhere. Not cheap but memorable experience guaranteed.
More fancy inside than out.

Ceiling lamps. Friendly and professional staff always stood by to the left and was quick to get you more tea etc.
Wallpaper of sumo wrestling teams.
Something complimentary to cleanse your palate.
Yellowtail sashimi four ways - kanapachi, shimaaji, hamachi, hiramasa. We had this to share, which was better than eating it all alone. The portion is just right to make you feel the pity of having finished something so delicious.
Degustation of sea lettuces - 11 varieties of authentic Japanese seaweed. Too much seaweed for 2 people to share, and surprising filling!
Home made soba with sea urchin. The soba was good but not as good/special as the above dishes.
Home made soba with toasted seaweed and shiso leaf.
Rice pudding tempura a la mode with sake-kasu ice cream. Yum!
