One thing about food in New York so different from London is diversity. Since coming to New York I've discovered dishes I didn't know exist! There're Korean restaurants in London and they're very good (I would say better than Hong Kong on average) but they tend to offer similar (but popular) dishes.
Of the many restaurants in the Koreatown, I have only tried a handful, but this little place has something unique that no other offers (the soup below).
Photos on wall.
Freshly sliced kimchi, they sliced it at your table.
Kimchi. The best I've had in a long long time.
More veggie to eat kimchi with.
Sul long tang (ox bone soup with white rice and white noodle). Some people say it's bland. It came unsalted so you'll add that and onion to your taste. We added only a little bit of salt while the people next to our table added heaps.
Bibimbap.
Ox bone soup, came with the bibimbap.
