There has always been an intense smell of urine on the streets of East London on weekend, from the beer-drinking Brits. In New York, I pick up this nasty smell but I'm dumbfounded to find it in most unexpected places (like high traffic cross roads). And I have seen people pee - not against walls in dark alleys as the Brits do - but towards passing cars on busy sidewalks!
The other day, I saw a truck full of mobile toilets and thought this idea could be useful.
This could be a scheme subsidized by the government. A few trucks with portable toilets would travel on city streets on a regular route. Work like buses, but stop by request. Facility is free. Using Latitude and smart phone apps, you can trace the whereabouts of these trucks and signal for want to use.
